Our rental prices for moving vehicles vary based on the size of the truck or trailer, the number of days you need it, and whether you’re returning it to another U-Haul dealer or back to us.

Packing and Moving FAQ

  • How are U-Haul rates determined?

    In-town move rates include a flat fee for the rental period plus a per-mile charge. One-way move rates are determined by the truck size, point of origin, destination, and date of the move. The one-way rates also have an allowed mileage and a set number of days for rental.

  • How many people can ride in a U-haul truck?

    Larger trucks, such as the pickup, 15’, 17’, 20’, and 26’ trucks, will fit three passengers. The U-Haul 10’ box trucks and cargo fans only accommodate two people (driver and passenger). 

  • What type of gas do I put in a U-Haul?

    Most of our trucks take unleaded gasoline, but it’s essential to double-check before driving off. Our team members will let you know exactly what to fill your vehicle up with, and if you have any questions, you can just call us. 

  • Do I need to make a deposit when I rent a U-Haul?

    If you pay with a credit card, no. However, if you pay in cash or debit, you will have to put a deposit down. For in-town trucks, this deposit will be $100 or the estimated rental charges (whichever is greater). For one-way trucks, this deposit will be $100 plus the rental rate.
